Frugal Friday #7 #FixThePlus #FollowFriday

Planted seeds in egg cartoon holder.

Seedlings

Last Frugal Friday I talked about growing yourself indoor herbs and left off saying we will explore making indoor starter kits and save a ton of money. When I grew my own back in Maine I planted seeds in empty egg shell cartons. What I think is so neat about the paper cartons is the biodegradable part of it. You can plant the whole little container holding your sprouts either out in your garden or inside in your planter. May is a good time to start planting.

My little sprouts.

Containers

This is what I like best for you can use your imagination. Like for instance, you could plant your seedlings in a discarded coffee pot. I just would put small stones or pebbles at the bottom of the pot or you can use fish gravel that has seen better days. Then you will have drainage and fertilizer.

I love clay pots.

So take one of your seedlings in your egg container, it will be quite moist by the time you are ready to plant. Fill with gravel about 1 inch tall, then the soil, then the seedling and there you have it. Put what ever you are growing in a nice sunny spot.

While I'm thinking about it I love what some people have done with old tires. The ones I've seen is they were painted, buried halfway with flowers in the middle. Looked pretty neat.

Nice sunny spot.

I hope I have given you a few ideas to play with. Gardening can be so much fun:)

What have you planted so far?

The Mindy Project

Plot-The series follows obstetrician/gynecologist Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) as she tries to balance her personal and professional life, surrounded by quirky co-workers in a small medical practice in New York City. Mindy explores life with the help of her co-workers: Danny Castellano, her best friend and love interest, whose religious sensibilities occasionally cause some tension; Jeremy Reed, an English doctor who manages the practice; Peter Prentice, another doctor who was a fraternity jock while attending Dartmouth; Morgan Tookers, a wacky registered nurse and an ex-con; Tamra Webb, a blunt nurse; and Beverley, the libidinous older office receptionist.

The main Cast and characters

• Mindy Kaling as Dr. Mindy Kuhel Lahiri, a romantically frustrated OB/GYN at Shulman & Associates.
• Chris Messina as Dr. Daniel "Danny" Alan Castellano, another OB/GYN at Shulman & Associates, Mindy's main frenemy and love interest.

Monday Movies, On-Line Fun

Good morning and it's our lovely Monday morning. If you say it enough times maybe you will believe it! I have been very lucky this week with some really good movie suggestions from Nikki posting over at http://entertainmentwhacko.blogspot.com/,' hi Jeremy', and you can find Nikki at http://www.lavenderinspiration.com/. She reviewed  http://www.movietubecc.cc/71-watch-horrible-bosses-2-online.html which I loved by the way. The difference between us is I suggest movies that I have watched and where, she reviews the movies in detail. Does a wonderful job. You can find the cast list by clicking on Horrible Bosses 2.

If you like even one of these movies I will be happy. Have a happy monday and don't work to hard.

I'm thinking going along with Monday Movies, On-Line Fun I will quote a little know Trivia facts about the movie industry that you may or may not know.

 1. Die Hard originated from the failed script of Commando 2.

Copyright This!

Hello, and how are you today, or should I say night. I'm sitting here after about two hours learning about how to stay out of trouble looking into  copyright policies.  I have, and the sites I visited did mention to be careful about 'stealing' another's (what happened to share?) ideas whether it be photos, art, music, anything you can imagine. They are right about one of their points about being on the web for as long as I have you can get lax and let your guard down.

Now I know the most obvious rule. 'Give credit where it is due' showing the link of the website you want to share what you have learned. My own 'rude awakening' was an email from Pinterest. They had to take down some of my pictures that I had pinned. I was under the impression if it shows that little red pin logo in the corner or anywhere around it, it's okay to pin it. Except on Facebook, they make it very clear you can't use their photos and you can't automatically, evidently someone complained and I'm glad all that happened where the offending photos were taken off my board.

So I decided to take a deep breath cos I hate studying this crap and really anything at all, telling myself do it when your nice and alert for only about two hours, which I did. >patting self on back< So I actually learned how to do what it takes to find infringement free photos which I will share what I found for information and for free images. I had no idea after all these years at the bottom right-hand side on Google there are three links to use. Privacy Terms and Settings. This is after you call up Google and click on 'images'. Then you can custom click what you actually want. What a deal.

The thing is for the next few days rest of my life, I will be taking, at least, an hour out of my day to follow up on all this stuff.

Candy Is Dandy, Peanut Butter Is Better with Reese's Chocolate

l love getting stuff for free. I mean who doesn't? In this case, it's collecting little lollipops from the bank. Every time I go in I say a cheerful 'hi there' and quip I'm just here for the candy!

After all, why should the little kids have all the fun? Although if a little kid is there I'll slide him a lollipop with parent's permission of course.

My little bag is getting bigger and bigger with those add to powder sticks for any water I might buy while out. I also like to say I'm saving for next Halloween. We ate all of ours this last Halloween!

Next on my it makes me so happy list is opening a brand new jar of peanut butter and Reese's chocolate. Oh that creamy top that just begs you to swipe a finger across the top. A thing of beauty.

That was my lunch. Toast peanut butter and a tiny bit of Reese's will leave you smiling all day.

100 Exquisite Adjectives

I love words and came across a list of them. I'm going to add a word a day to my posts as long as I don't forget.

Word #37 Incendiary: inflammatory, spontaneously combustible, hot

In a sentence: Those who know the book only by hearsay as the work of a furious incendiary will be surprised at the dignity, force and temperance of the style; it was the circumstances that made it inflammatory.

A Christmas Horror Story

Cast: William Shatner (DJ Dan) Shannon Kook-Chun (Dylan) Rob Archer (Krampus) George Buza (Santa) Michelle Nolden (Diane Bauer)

I know, it's way after Christmas but I have been waiting to see this for a while now. I LOVED IT. It had a mixture of horror, the supernatural and comedy. That's if your not too busy covering your eyes. Remember folks, it's all make-believe.

I loved the idea of elf zombies which I personally have never seen before, the makeup was fantastic.

This movie brought a whole new level of the phase "naughty or nice" seemingly it doesn't really matter which one you are. William Shatner does a great job as a DJ making me chuckle all through the movie.

The ending of A Christmas Horror Story was a nice twist where the whole story was tied up neatly in a big red Christmas bow. I would watch it again.

Does A Christmas Horror Story sound good to you?

Love Yourself

In surfing the other day I came across what I can call a follow-up to one of my last posts; What Would You Do touching on a subject I'm well versed in.

This is for anyone and everyone as a reminder; don't forget who you are:

• I am not to blame for being beaten and abused.
• I am not the cause of another's violent behavior.
• I do not like it or want it.
• I do not have to take it.
• I am an important human being.
• I am a worthwhile woman.
• I deserve to be treated with respect.
• I do have power over my own life.
• I can use my power to take good care of myself.
• I can decide for myself what is best for me.
• I can make changes in my life if I want to.
• I am not alone. I can ask others to help me.
• I am worth working for and changing for.
• I deserve to make my own life safe and happy.

Been There Done That

After much debating, one second, I have to make another pot of Carmel Drizzle Coffee...I am done and having Gourmet coffee once in a while is such a treat.

Anyways, I tried the naming the day and blogging accordingly last week and while it was fun I decided it's just not my style. I am more of a multi-tasker and a free-spirited blogger if there is such a thing.

I just made an example of this declaration while I was making coffee.  While the coffee was percolating, I put away the dishes, got out my blender, and made a full blender batch and I'm good to go for the next 4 days.

Thanks for following along with my experiment last week. I think I was in love more with the naming of the day then the actual posting.

I Just Can't Stop Watching Movies!
