I Am Finally Going To have My Say #FixThePlus

Yesterday I promised my daughter I would call her so today I did. I'm the type that balks at calling for reasons unknown to me except maybe I seem to always be two or three steps behind what I want to accomplish. Slow down for a phone call? Pleaseeee

On the other hand, when I connect with the person I'm calling it's so good to hear their voice, in this case, my daughters. Now I know today is Trivia Thursday but as I was catching up on my G+ #FixThePlus!!! Or take it away but anyhoo I thought to myself. This is my blog I can do what I want!

While I was talking to Ariel about the recent world's events which have been shockingly bad with the shooting in Orlando, that poor young girl singer, Christina Grimme and the poor little 2-year-old little boy getting murdered by a gator, what the hell!?

We also touched on the subject of who may end up the president and while we were talking I thought to myself how mature my daughter had gotten discussing world events together so I told her how much I admired all she had done and accomplished. The problem...she and practically one-half of my family lives in Florida, just not in Orlando.

I then filled her in on the subject of our moving sometime in July, my disability claim and my health, in general, finding out what I am used to I realized she was not used to it at all, my first instinct is to try and shield my kids from worrying about me.

After the phone call, I talked to Mr. Rose about it and we both came to the conclusion it's better they know then leave both kids in the dark. We did have a laugh together, it wasn't all doom and gloom. We are moving to a 2-bedroom apt. and will be getting furniture as we go so I told her you can visit but you will have to bring your own beds! We both said air mattresses at the same time!

I don't know what's going on as far as all the havoc and I can only pray it won't happen again or to anyone I love and know. Please, all I want is peace, love and a tolerance for whoever it may concern.

Wouldn't world peace be nice?

2 Bags of Laundry and a Package

It's that time again. I'm heading for the laundry mat with my Father-In-Law. I love the fact at the laundry mat you can do all your laundry at once but I still miss having a washing machine at home.

It is in the single digits this morning. Mother Nature must have finally woke up and sneezed snow and cold all over us. The apartment is chilly; with the oven turned on to take the chill off. I'm going grocery shopping; I have a craving for Pot Pies.

Mr. Rose has caught his 'man cold'; I told him no kissing reminding him 'behind every good man is a woman rolling her eyes'. He thought when I was getting sick that it was sinus related. I wish.

The Electric company is going to get their share this morning. They finally found October's payment which they had cashed the money order we had sent them. It was one of those I don't need this crap moments. Cable will be next which will result in them trying to lure us back in with those 'what a deal' envelopes. I said no you tree-wasting morons.

Grocery shopping is in the mix at the local grocery store aka as my social life.
I'm excited to be sending off my grandson's package today. In the taking, out and repacking the box I look at the table and staring at me (yes knitted booties have eyes) was the little-knitted booties. They are now taped with duck tape to the top of the package. No way I was undoing everything to get them inside. It'll be interesting to see how they do making it up to Florida or is it down? Makes me think of that troll that travels the world.

My Christmas decorations are all packed in one box, this time, around. I'm so proud of myself. Our tree is still up, though. I love the Christmas lights. Don't judge me. The neighbor across the street still have their outside lights up although I would leave them on year round; they look like ice cycles.

Rite-Aid and Family Dollar will get a visit finishing up my list of chores.
Then I get to haul everything up a flight of stairs and collapse.

Chores are so much fun; I'm lieing. Do you like doing chores? I know silly question. I love stories so do tell.

Long-Distance Parental Love

Okay, you've raised your children up to be strong, independent adults and you are proud of them. Give yourself a well-done pat on the shoulder.

They move hundreds of miles away making it impossible to see them on a day to day basis, but that's okay there are  Facebook and Skype. Not to mention phone calls and text messages. Pssst it's not okay, but it's okay to pretend.

They take on a partner that you hope they are happy with, get married, or start to live with each other, wonderful, hope you stay happy. There may be those pesky relationships bumps, but we all have them.

They get back together, you sigh a breath of relief, life goes on.

Then someone has "the fight". They call, you console, you give advice, they cry, you do the mother thing and cry with them. You alternate between consoling and wanting to beat the crap out of the offending partner and giving the advice to stay with offending partner.

All you can do is hope to hell it will work itself out in one way or another, but I'm telling you having your hands tied is not an easy thing. Keeping your smart-ass comments to yourself is a given.

Sometimes your inner child plays dirty and something will leak out to offending party so you have to get away from all means of communication until you calm down.

Hang in there if you are long-distance parent, hopefully, you have a good support system to help and if all else fails, come to mama.

There's no place like home...

I'm home! Actually I got home yesterday but caught up with a few other things promising myself to blog today. My back feels like I have glass moving around in my spine from lugging my backpack around but still I'm still glowing from seeing my little grandson. He is such a strong little baby and I so enjoyed holding him, feeding him, loving his perfect little self.

I did pretty well getting myself through 2 flights and a layover both ways. I was fortunate to be surrounded by "traveling angels" so I didn't end up in Texas...twice. And thank you to the couple who were standing next to the garbage bin when I threw away my flight receipt!  And yes, you can get through a four-hour layover eating nothing but crackers. I saw that movie with Tom Hanks living in an airport!

Baby Barrett
All in all, it was a beautiful 7 days. My son and his wife have stepped right up to parenting this little miracle named Barrett who is now 6 lbs. and could be more for all I know. They are tired but are doing well as first time parents. I love you all.

I love the clouds.
Reminds me when my Grandpa used to take me to see the planes.
My perfect little grandson.
His hat didn't like staying on.
Baby toes are the best!
Me and silly Jilly who was trying to get away.

Feeding time.

He was cracking me up because he was lifting his head for one so young.

Fly the friendly skies...

How come you can blink and 3 years have gone by; kids are older; cars are now flying...coming back to reality.

The longest 7 days of my life is here and tomorrow we are off to stay overnight before my morning flight to Panama City, Florida to see my little grandson.

I am very excited and will post pictures when I come back on the 14th. I'm leaving my laptop here so I can skype with my husband.

Everyone have a wonderful Labor Day weekend and week because I know I will.
