My Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades!

What a great area to live. Our bank is close, our grocery store is close, both being the same as we had in St. Johnsbury. We are going to lunch today in the dining room that's in our building. Roast beef and the trimmings. On Thanksgiving and Christmas, they have free dinners which we are looking forward to as well.

I took some pictures of the progress we have made plus a view of the town. I simply adore small intimate towns. Beauty is everywhere.

Finally got my lids sorted!

From H.O.P.E. thrift store. $3.00 sandals brand new Dr. Scholls!

Chuck sitting at our borrowed table and chairs in our 'computer room.'

Looking forward to sorting out these boxes. Some of them have been packed for five years making my stuff seem new again.

Taken from my bank a view of Lyndonville.

My homemade bookshelves. I'm going to get something pretty to cover the boxes.

My bathroom is slowly becoming organized.

Showing no more boxes and if there is a place to hang stuff on I will find it.

Have a wonderful day wherever you are in this world:)

Tips On How Not To Lose Your Mind In Cyberland #FollowFriday #FixThePlus

We all know what it is like on the internet. Way back when my son convinced me to buy a computer for 'homework' he warned, "Mom be careful, you can become addicted", to which I scoffed off as please, not me. But addicted I became.

I was so green that instead of making online files I printed everything in sight using computer paper and ink at an alarming rate. Plus I would download everything in sight because it said 'free download'. What could possibly go wrong?

My son would sigh and tell me, "That's okay mom I will fix it" and spend about an hour getting my computer away from those internet trolls. Again he would patiently give me the same advice over and over again until it finally took. Thank you, son, I love you. Ariel too just in case your reading this:)

I started out my morning with my coffee going thru my Google alerts (at least that still works) Of course when you share and click on the hopefully working G+ boxes, you get another flow of alerts from your G. friends.

In between that, I read one of +Jeremy Crow  from The Whacko Blog to sign in to your friend's blogs that you follow so if it all goes to hell, we still got each other together. Great advice.

Working on your computer is a lot like working, actually, if I think about it is work. I have taken to reminding myself to take breaks as if it was an off-line job. Now it's been about three hours since I started wanting to achieve some headway to what I want to do so I'm making a list.

1. Read your favorite blogs, comment and share with #FollowFriday  #FixThePlus. (I always forget the days of the week themes but I'm getting better)

2. Drink some coffee and stare out the window dreamily. (You might want to rub your eyes and a little Visine wouldn't hurt)

3. Go to your Google + profile to say hi and share. (Don't get distracted by all the pretty pictures. I'm very much like Dora on Finding Nemo, I love that movie)

4. Do # 2 again and this time, you can do some slow neck rolls. (With this damn fibromyalgia and even if you don't have it, loosens up your neck and shoulders).

5. Make a list of the stuff you want to do and do it one task at a time. (Or at least keep it in the same catagory).

6. Fix and refresh all my posts that need it. (I just thank the forces that are I only have a couple hundred).

My list today and the problem the next couple of days is this.

A. Sign up on all my blogs that I haven't already signed up for. (I love people and have the good fortune to have a lot of bloggers I follow.

B. Sort out my Pinterest Board into more sub-categories. (This is good to do before you accumulate too many pins). I also schedule my pins now using a program called TailWind but check frequently for those internet burbs).

C. Sort out my bookmarks. (My friend  Becky Barnfather at Organizing Made Fun would be horrified as I am, it would be like opening your closet door with everything tumbling out on yourself).

6. Go back to #2 and Eat something! (Those internet munchie crumbs aren't going to fall on your keyboard by themselves).

7. Walk away from your keyboard, go for a walk, which I'm going to do shortly.

So there you have how to not lose your mind in cyberland.

Getting Closer On My To-Do List!

Victory!!!
1. Gather up my story.
I have started my stories of my life and the pages are scattered to the four corners of the web. Well, maybe not that far but the pages are here and there. I have already started putting the pages I have found in one folder. The goal is for my grandchildren to have a record of my life.

2. Sort Out Pinterest
I have I think thirty boards and somewhere along the line my pins need to be transferred to the correct board. I worked on that yesterday completing one board. Twenty-nine to go.

3. Photos
I once tried putting a search from the start menu for photos and my desktop screen disappeared with thousands of photos covering it in an effort to get them all in one place. These photos are of course a story in themselves which I could use for my blog. I have had Photobucket for years now, leaving it to be covered in cyber dust. In coming back it looks like my brain, scattered.

UPDATE: If I ever get this done it will be a cyber miracle! I will start plugging away at it a little each day:)

4. Memories for Posts
Being fifty-seven I have had the most amazing memories that I want to post about. The helping part of me. Again, where do I start? Maybe a name change which I have no idea how to do that.

UPDATE: I have started posting my memories Thinking Back Tuesdays Story Time #1

5. Teaching Myself Blogging
I have bookmarked a list of reading material to elevate my understanding of blogging. I stopped bookmarking, for now, I have to go back and read them.

UPDATE: I read all the material I had collected so far but there is always more.

6. The Fun Stuff
I want to learn about the fun side of blogging. The pictures you can do yourself, etc.

UPDATE: Free images on:
Pixabay
Imikimi
Redkid

7. Housework
I went into my bedroom to get a cooler dress on. It has become very warm this afternoon. While I was in the bedroom I made the bed, went and got an old sock to dust with. Back pain kicked in and I'm now sitting down.

UPDATE: Lets just say I did wink!

Not bad eh? This will be my last post because I'm almost done until another list gets made. One thing blogging has taught me, you never stop learning.

Getting Organized Continues

1. Gather up my story.
I have started my stories of my life and the pages are scattered to the four corners of the web. Well, maybe not that far but the pages are here and there. I have already started putting the pages I have found in one folder. The goal is for my grandchildren to have a record of my life.

Update: I have found all my pages except the start of my story about my life as a 'Carnie'. But when I figure out this Windows 10 talking instead of typing program I will be golden.

I put all my pages on Grammarly which is free and you can upgrade.
I also found SlickWrite
Many thanks to Becky at Organizing Made Fun for giving me lots of ideas. She has a great blog which I have followed since I started blogging last July 2015.

Update: I can't cross this off yet but my photos are basically all in one area on my desktop ready to sort.

4. Memories for Posts
Being fifty-seven I have had the most amazing memories that I want to post about. The helping part of me. Again, where do I start? Maybe a name change which I have no idea how to do that.

Update: I have made Thinking Back Tuesday solid. I just wish I could put all my thinking on hold when I go lay down for the night!

5. Teaching Myself Blogging
I have bookmarked a list of reading material to elevate my understanding of blogging. I stopped bookmarking, for now, I have to go back and read them.

6. The Fun Stuff
I want to learn about the fun side of blogging. The pictures you can do yourself, etc.

Update: I made Dora here at https://makeameme.org/

Update: When I'm not so bone tired I will make a list of the Blogs I have bookmarked and the links.

So there you have it. I love seeing something that means a lot to me moving forward, making a list helps.

Rub A Dub Dub

I love the way a doing a simple chore can trigger a memory. On my to-do list I posted earlier, housework was at the bottom. I can only do housework in bits and pieces having to sit down, which is at my laptop, which has my grandson fresh out of his bath as background picture, which urges me to Facebook to see if more 'baby' stuff has been posted, then I see this, follow this link, next thing we all know if you spend any time at all on the computer a couple of days hours have passed.

Our apartment hallway was worked on a few days ago. Being from men who worked as carpenters the sounds of banging and drilling was comforting. At the bottom of the stairs is two coat racks in various degrees of usefulness, a big plastic tote, two baskets that I used to take all over town with me to haul laundry or groceries. One at a time of course!

I had decided to fix it up down there a little bit for it's a small area so you can get the outside door open. I went down and now it looks so nice, grasped that big tote bringing it upstairs with me intending to put it in the shower which getting it in my tiny shower was like making a tight three point turn, a little shower door banging, I got it in.

As I turned it on squirting dish soap into the bottom where the water was foaming I was brought back in time to when my daughter was a baby, living in an apartment with just a shower. One day it was just too warm and wanting her to cool down a bit I went to work on my shower floor. Scrubbing it clean, rinsing it thoroughly, I covered the drain started to fill the bottom with water. Before I put her in I had laid out a towel for her to sit on as well.

This tote would have made a wonderful little portable tub so remember it is not what you got but how you can adapt and use what you got. Sitting on my bed with a direct view she splashed and played making her tired out for nap time.

Have you ever had to come up with an ingenious plan?

Getting Organized and Checking Off Pinterest

Oh, the drudgery but the end results are fantastic! My Pinterest board looks great with every pin in its place. I took out the doubles getting my cuteness overload from my baby animal board. Even my inner voice was high pitched with awwws and I want one! Happiness is a nice clean board. Now moving on.

Here We Go Again! #FixThePlus *

I had to step away from my blogging for a short while.

I told my husband I was feeling scattered  and unorganized.

So he sat down next to me and he helped me to decide to combine all the blogs I had started into one Blog and just post on the one which made me feel a whole lot better!

After all, I'm just starting out and sometimes I go for the big picture before I have even learned the steps to get the big picture!

After all, this is supposed to be fun.

So I have taken each blog and broke the posts for each one and put the post on a notepad.

My desktop is three rows deep but for tonight, I am going to finally relax and watch some HBO Mermaids.

Giving my brain a break for the night!

Do you ever feel scatterbrained?
