Getting A Deal Makes My World Go Round

I am well satisfied with my day today. My friend came to pick me up then we headed the wrong way. I had suggested a place changing my mind forgetting to tell her. I tell her, we turn around heading for Dunkin Donuts. I took note that the coffee doesn't try to burn your lip off anymore. We sat up on the chairs in front of the store where we could see outside. After an hour and a half, we were as caught up as we were going to be and she returned me home. What a lovely time we had.

My landlord had his truck pulled up at the time filling up a big puddle with the dirt he had piled up in the back of his truck. As I walked by him I quipped, "Taking away my ice skating rink I see" to which he replied, "I thought we could take up mud wrestling".

In going back out to the Family Dollar I made my big score. I have needed new bras in like forever but just never really get to buying any. Or if I did buy one it wouldn't fit correctly so to the "it feels weird" pile with everything else I'm supposed to donate.

So I'm in the store looking at this and that deciding not to torture myself too long I go to the checkout. Over at the other register, I spot half off sign for undergarments. Oh boy! As I going through each item one by one this ringing sound goes off. Evidently I was setting off the alarm from those tags they attach to everything now which the clerk told me with my telling him I thought the ringing was in my head and someone was talking about me, loudly! >insert laugh here<

I come to the very last bra, lo and behold, it looks like this may be the one. No price tag of course as I look at the clerk and tell him this. He sells it to me for .50 cents! I was so happy over that Grandpa Rose said I was glowing.

I firmly believe that karma has a lot to do with it. Reaping what you sow, what goes around comes around, etc. Be nice to people as much as you can and maybe you can buy a bra for .50 cents too!

Whats the best deal you have ever got?

The Sunshine Blogger Award

<<<Waiting for the applause to die down.

Much to my surprise and delight I saw I was nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award by +SaltyBug's Splashes who was the first blogger to read and give me advice about making my blog a bit better. Because of her advice I now use Grammarly  so thank you for the nomination and the advice.

(I still have to learn how to make tabs for my blog. I'm a newbie; I'm learning your never to oldie to be a newbie but I'm the real just started in July deal).

I get to nominate 3 peoples so here I go...
The Blog of the Middle-Aged Thog I have been reading his stuff for the last few months and he is very amusing. Enough to follow all this time which seems both a short and long time.
ChumpLady Same thing as above as far as longevity of reading. I really like Diane's stuff. She tells it like it is and cracks me up on a true life been there done that level.
Last but not least Jeremy Crow I found on Life Of Wacko. I love his droll humor.

I keep going back and forth to Salty's blog to make sure I'm getting all this right...

Here are the rules
1.Thank the person that nominated you
2.Answer the questions from the person that nominated you
3.Nominate some other bloggers for this award
4.Write the same amount of questions for the bloggers you have nominated

5.Notify the bloggers you have nominated

  • Answering Salty's questions:
  • Question-
  • 1.What is it the most you miss from your childhood?
  • Answer-
  • Tanning. I miss the days of bikinis, oiled up skin and turning a deep dark brown.
  • Question-
  • 2.Which is your favorite part of the human face?
  • Answer-
  • The eyes. I love the sexy way my dark blue eyed husband looks at me. I was astonished when we first met he has the same color and slant to his eyes just like my eyes.
  • Question-
  • 3.What did you have for dinner last night?
  • Answer-
  • This is where I am frowning trying to remember all that time ago...hmmm. Oh yeah! I had shredded chicken breast, shredded cheese, tomato, bean with salsa burrito. My husband from surgery has lost his appetite so half of it is frozen in the freezer.
My questions will be, and remember this is all in fun and you don't have to accept the award or answer these questions...

1.Which relation did you get your sense of humor from? Mother, father, brother?
2. Which upcoming Holiday are you most looking forward too?
3. Do you smile when your writing your stuff?

How To Make Simple As Doing Dishes #FixThePlus *

I was doing dishes. That's when I do my best musings. I'm eyeing the dish drainer wondering for the millionth time how does a dish drainer get  so dirty from clean dishes and water?

I was doing dishes as fast as I could before my back pain settled in.
Wash wash wash...rinse rinse rinse.
I'm almost at the end of the dishes. All I have left to do are the silverware which to me is a pain in my tush.

Usually, I throw them in the dish drainer willy nilly and forget about dishes having to rush to my seat with the back pain monster right behind me but not today! Today I have a plan!

            I'll make a silverware holder.

Now that little invisible voice who loves to "voice" her opinion in my head speaks up trying to shame me by asking, "why now stupid, you've lived here three years" to which I reply, "don't judge me voice".

An idea was forming in my head. I watch a lot of YouTube projects and read about homemade projects that you don't have to spend money on so I think to myself, I got a 2-liter bottle of Root beer in the fridge! Yes, I love love love recycling.

I take out the bottle and notice I have to drink the rest of the Root beer before I can use the bottle so ~gulp gulp gulp~yes I know, I could have poured it down the drain but I'm cheap and besides...its Root beer.

Argggg brain freeze I think to myself, but the bottle is almost empty. A couple more gulps and its done. After a nice rinse, I can now begin.
The first "silverware drainer" I made I did it with the hole down.

For the drainage. That wasn't a very good idea because straws, knifes and anything narrow enough to stick through would fall out. Hmmmmmm.
So one day I finally had enough and proudly threw away my homemade silverware drainer. Proud because I had made it and prouder I actually threw something away I'm such a hoarder.

Project #2 is now starting to form in my mind as what I consider an ingenious mind for all things homemade and crafty, I go downstairs and dig through the big black plastic bag full of returnables for another plastic 2-liter bottle. I find one, I'm on a roll now and return back upstairs and promptly find my scissors.

I cut off half the bottle like a pro stabbing the bottom for drainage and there it will sit until it gets dirty although I'm resigned to never knowing why or how that happens, until I need a new one.

What do you do to save money?
