Thursdays Are For Trivia #FixThePlus

Scroll for answer

How the fire exactly began is still unknown, but Mrs. O'Leary's cow often gets the credit. The most popular and enduring legend maintains that the fire began in the O'Leary barn, as Mrs. O’Leary was milking her cow. The cow kicked over a lantern, setting fire to the barn. This story was circulating in Chicago even before the flames had died out, and it was noted in the Chicago Tribune's first post-fire issue. In 1893 the reporter retracted the "cow-and-lantern" story, but even his confession was unable to put the legend to rest. At least 300 people were dead, and 100,000 people were homeless. The fire was one of the most spectacular events of the nineteenth century, and it is recognized as a major milestone in the city's history.

Did you know that?

Tuesday Television #10 #FixThePlus

                                  Preacher

I decided to try out watching Preacher. There has been plenty of advertising so I thought what the heck, why not? I was pleasantly surprised when the story starts off with a Vampire whom I find to have entertaining quips in an Irish brogue which I love to hear, This show runs on a Supernatural theme introducing the characters one by one. I will watch the next show.

Television Tuesdays #FixThePlus

Welcome to the start of Television Tuesdays. Here you can find a show or shows that I have watched and felt worthy of sharing. I have chosen Couchtuner as my go to the online website, it has been really reliable.
I'm so happy I can still watch SyFy loving every show they air. No commercials are the best perk watching online and wonderful for season bingeing.

Thursdays Are For Trivia #FixThePlus

You will need to click on my post to see the answer.

The court was once a spare room to house journals, but sometime in the 1940s, the justices converted it into a gym with a basketball court. A sign at the court's entrance reads, “Do not assume court is over. No basketball while court is being held." The Supreme Court Building was designated a National Historic Landmark on May 4th, 1987.
Did you know that one? I didn't.

How To Be A Proper Blogger.

Okay, I'm doing what I've been learning about blogging and typed in trending social media and one of the suggestions was Buzzfeed.

I look through the News section first and find nothing of interest for as you probably well know, I'm more into the humorous subject and/or poking fun at something.

Moving on I click on Buzzfeed. Kathy Griffin and Kristin Chenoweth pop up. I'm a huge fan of Miss Griffin despite the strong colorful language and enjoy their camaraderie and subject matter which is about worst hecklers ever.

Amused by Kathy and Kristin I now feel like I've known them for years, thanks, girls, I move on to the Life button. Oh boy, this is getting better.I like the Life button.

It's got an article about...surprise...cooking Thanksgiving Dinner in a slow cooker causing me to thinking of writing a book, 101 ways to cook a turkey/leftovers, don't even think about giving any to your dog aka furry friend.

I skim over a model and her eating habits, screw you skinny person, you just reminded me I'm getting hungry.

Next I'm delighted to see Lady GaGa. For some weird reason ever since I saw Lady Gaga on the Jimmy Fallon Show I decided I liked her. Now she is everywhere. Now I got to check American Horror Story: Hotel.

Then I come across a new trend called glittering your roots which remind me of a Gynecological joke about said glitter and how the hell do you wash that all out. I guess it becomes body glitter forever. I scroll down and see How the ~Beep~ do you get it off. Yeah, I already asked that I think, feeling like a smarty pants.

The answer was disappointing to say the least. I have sprayed Halloween glitter over my head in my younger years and don't think I won't do it again now in my "getting older" years, maybe but would you and if you do I wanna see a picture.

Can you think of another way to use glitter?

Pain In My Neck #Part 1

The first injury to my neck I was 15 years of age. My family and I were camping in Glamis, Calif.

http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/elcentro/recreation/ohvs/isdra.html

I sure miss those days. There was a big canal we would go swimming in and I had learned to backflip. So of course new skill, I'm gonna nonchalantly show it off every chance I got.

The first couple of times I was okay. It was sunny and very very hot around 100 degrees or so. Bright blue sky and no clouds in sight. The water was cold and refreshing. I should have stopped diving into the water like a backwards dolphin but oh no..new skill you see.

I'm standing on the edge. Between backwards diving, splashing around and trying to find a not muddy part of the steep bank, we kids had moved away from where we had started.

I stand there with my back to the water and casually do my back dive in slow motion I may add...yeah I'm proud of my old limberness and POW!!!I heard this loud boom coming out of my head as I crumble down on myself water swirling and bubbles everywhere. I had hit the canal's sandy ledge.

All I remember is seeing my Uncle Dan's arm and hand which I grabbed and he hauled me out of the water. He's telling my dad, Sheryl went over backwards then all I saw was her crumbling into a heap. Then he goes on he was going to dive in to save me but I popped up out of that water, eyes all wide, and I was clawing my way up that muddy bank. Survival of the fittest dolphin.

I sat there cross-legged on the bank side holding my head muttering I got a headache. Then mom came into the picture doing the mother freak out thing and we all rush to the Glamis ER. Aspirin anyone?

I came very close to dying that day, but I had almost broken my neck that day. That was the start of the chronic pain. I had no idea being the delightful storyteller that I am <<grins hugely>> this post would be this long so I'll do Part 2 later on the other neck injury that sealed the deal for that saying...your a"pain in my neck".
