Frugal Friday #7

Vermont Farmers Market

Hello, everyone. Today is Farmer Market day for me. Where we live now we get coupons totaling up to $27 which will be very nice addition to our groceries. That's one of the best perks we have since our move. Plus it's a walkable distance. We are so happy my husband and I that we can finally live the way we want.

Buying from your local Farmer's Market helps the town staying local the wonderful colors of the fruits and vegetables beckons you to buy fresh. Especially if you can't have a garden of your own.

Television Tuesday # 17 (Stranger Things)

Thanks to Fan Girling: Stranger Things Samantha Dunaway Bryant at Balancing Act I watched and loved the Netflix series Stranger Things.

The kids are likeable taking you into a freaky supernatural world that leaves you wanting to watch more which is what I did watching all eight chapters.

You can find it free on-line at http://putlocker.is/watch-stranger-things-tvshow-online-free-putlocker.html.

How To Survive Moving To A New Town

Hello everyone, my husband and I are officially in our new apartment. My usual posts,  Monday Memories, Tuesday Television, Thursdays Are For Trivia and Frugal Friday will be put on hold, for now, it will give me more freedom to get used to cable T.V. again and unpack all these boxes!

Let's start from the beginning. The big day had arrived. Moving day!! It took two sweaty days to load our boxes and bed. The days have been hot with high humidity, everyone was drinking tons of water.

I had done as much cleaning as humanly possible with my ailments which I had already conveyed to my landlady. She was super understanding. In fact, I'm not being charged for the extra cleaning that needs to be done.

Next came bringing it all up to the third floor and hallelujah, we have an elevator which is the coolest thing ever being new to it and all.

To move from a furnished efficiency place to a two-bedroom home is awesome. The kids pestered for pictures which I sent right away. They are real happy for us. You know that old saying, "To appreciate something, you should go without it" Or did I just make that up? Oh well, all I know are we are deliriously happy.

Is this not a cool bathroom? Two things happened when I saw the medicine cabinet. It's very long having lots of room. I dare say it is meant for holding lots of medications! The other thing the first time I saw my reflection coming out of the shower I immediately went on a serious food change. I have lost five lbs. already!

Now for the shower which I need to put up the shower curtain my mom-in-law gave us, tossed me right out of it. I went from a tiny bathroom which I posted a while back to hang on to those safety rails for dear life.

We have two borrowed plastic chairs which my husband used so it seemed safe enough, except for me. I wanted to shave my hairy legs so I set up the chair, sitting down, soaping up my legs and started to shave. Next thing I know I'm sitting on the floor making a loud, at least to me, crash.

So here I am sitting on the floor half in, half out and thought frig it, continuing to shave then got up thinking to myself is nowhere safe for me!

I can not wait to fix up my new bathroom!

I'm in love with my kitchen. Still sorting and I may change it all around before I'm through but I'm happy as hell.

Beds messy but I made a dresser out of boxes until either A we get a dresser or B we get a lot of boxes.

I'm officially a flatlander with no hills to climb, all the shops are within walking distance, I am so happy I could burst.

Do you have a moving story?

Here is what I love to do, watch movies, scheduled shows, news and sports all for free on my computer. When we move I will have my shows streamed to my television. Maybe you can find something here that you can watch. I just tested all my free links which are down under my list of shows. My Pinterest Board has what Movies I have watched.

Monday Memories #13 #FixThePlus

Continuing from last Memory Monday...

I was having a blast working on my boat then I became pregnant. Up until that morning, I was never sick. Well, I was now. I had woke up on one of our overnight trips ready to start cooking starting with the bacon and oh boy, my stomach rolled completely over causing me to run for the railing.

After that, I was fine working until the end of that summer then moved back home while I was pregnant. I was starting over again renting a studio apt. in Cathedral City, California.

My big thing was going over to Thrifty's where there was a small ice cream vendor with those big tubs of ice cream which I would have four different kinds of ice cream to make baby happy, at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I was becoming disenchanted with my husband, though. I was finding out he was what was called a Chronic Liar. He was shifty, lazy and a liar. That was the biggest thing, the lying. If you have someone like this in your life, best to get rid of them.

My mother was making one of her visits. This particular time let's see, I was around eight months. Mom comes in and despite my telling her that I was fine she went to the refrigerator to get some ice. That's about all there was besides a package of luncheon meat. Next thing I knew we were going grocery shopping with my mother muttering the whole time. It's kinda funny now.

After we made sandwiches she finally dropped some news on me. It was about my husband. She had seen him over at Jack-In-The-Box eating lunch with a co-worker. I was stunned not wanting to believe that. Of course, when he got home later he denied it all. I let it drop because no one really wants to think that the father of your baby would do such a thing.

That job he had was detailing cars which lasted about a week. He came home one day telling me he had a new job at J.C. Pennys as a stock person. I was over come with pride and happiness.  He was finally telling me the truth. Until my mother came over and my world was about to become shattered once again.

So mom comes over asking where my husband was? I told her at work of course. He had been leaving every day at the same time, coming home at the same time for around a week now. She didn't want to tell me but she did anyways, he wasn't working at  J.C. Pennys as a stock person. I didn't believe her and got really angry thinking my mom didn't like my husband and why was she picking on him for?

So she switched gears, said it was her mistake and that she had the best idea, how about she took me and Don out for lunch? I was excited and we went over to the Palm Springs Mall going into Pennys to where the layaway dept. was and asked for my husband. Needless to say, he wasn't there and when I showed the man a picture of him he remembered Don had gone in one day and that was it.

I blew a fuse. Mom brought me back home and I waited. When that door opened I was right there, drew back and slapped the crap out of him yelling and cussing how could you lie to me like that? He tried to get out of it but I called mom, she came back to get me where I stayed for a few days to cool off. When he came to see me I forgave him once again and left with him

Now as you have read a man doesn't have to hit you but messing with your mind is a whole lot crueler. Maybe I was extra sensitive to lying for I was very blunt and didn't lie as a rule. Not to mention I was trying to make the best out of a rebound situation...until next Memory Monday take care of yourself.

Tuesdays Television #13 #FixThePlus

The Mindy Project

Plot-The series follows obstetrician/gynecologist Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) as she tries to balance her personal and professional life, surrounded by quirky co-workers in a small medical practice in New York City. The character was inspired by Kaling's own mother, an OB/GYN. Mindy explores life with the help of her co-workers: Danny Castellano, her best friend and love interest, whose religious sensibilities occasionally cause some tension; Jeremy Reed, an English doctor who manages the practice; Peter Prentice, another doctor who was a fraternity jock while attending Dartmouth; Morgan Tookers, a wacky registered nurse and an ex-con; Tamra Webb, a blunt nurse; and Beverley, the libidinous older office receptionist.

The main Cast and characters

  • Mindy Kaling as Dr. Mindy Kuhel Lahiri, a romantically frustrated OB/GYN at Shulman & Associates.
  • Chris Messina as Dr. Daniel "Danny" Alan Castellano, another OB/GYN at Shulman & Associates, Mindy's main frenemy and love interest.
  • Ed Weeks as Dr. Jeremiah "Jeremy" Reed, OB/GYN, Mindy and Danny's somewhat hapless supervisor at the office.

The series' fourth season premiered on March 16, 2016. On May 25, 2016, FX set an end date for the series by renewing it for a fifth and sixth season. The 13-episode fifth season will air in 2017, followed by a 10-episode sixth and final season in 2018.

Monday Memories #11 #FixThePlus

Continued from the last Monday Memories #8
There was a break for Memorial Day

If you know what a dune buggy is then you know where Glamis is.

Our family's camper got a workout going there. Whenever we were going to go on a trip my chore was to clean out the camper.

It was the kind of camper you attached to the top of a truck which at the time I thought was pretty neat.

Living in the desert there was always sand involved getting into everything. I would wipe the inside all down and make the bed that was on top in the front. I would check to see what we needed then bring out the supplies putting them away.

Glamis is a big square desert with miles and miles of dunes. My Dad, would buy an old Volkswagon and turn it into a dune buggy. There was welding and 'don't look' cautions that just made you want to peek at the welding. I loved the welders helmet making my dad look badass.

The garage had tools hanging on the back wall and a bench that my dad built with those big red tool chests and welder machine underneath. I used to go out and sit and talk to him while he would be working away or trying to get out of being grounded which worked 99% of the time!

The finished dune buggy would look awesome and off we all would go to Glamis to try her out. Try and imagine 100 or more Chevy engines starting up at once and following a trail to get to the best dunes. I was in heaven.

One camping trip I remember quite well there was a full moon around Thanksgiving. It had just gotten dark with everyone climbing into their dune buggies starting them up. With all those V-8 engines starting up all at once, the roar was deafening and my eyes would sparkle with anticipation.

With the full moon, you could see quite clearly as if it was a cloudy day all the dune buggy's one by one started down the trail that has been traveled over thousands of times heading for the best dunes. These dunes were so big that when you are on top and look down, the people and vehicles looked like ants. This place is huge and I will never forget the weekends of endless fun we as a family had.

I found this video for you to watch.

Where was your favorite place to have fun at?

Monday Memories #9 #FixThePlus

Continued from last Monday...

I needed a date to the Prom. Thanks to the diligence of my wonderful friends a boy was singled out. Poor guy didn't know what hit him! He was 6 feet tall with black longish hair, wore jeans & black T-shirts and had a set for seven days a week. We met and a few weeks later became a couple and then lovers, I was one month away from turning eighteen.

I loved his mother and we would go to his house after school and she would cook hamburgers for us after school. Between that and a roadside restaurant which served up the greatest burger and fries I would gain a few pounds then have to starve myself to lose the extra pounds. Been that way all my life with the yo-yo dieting. We had a great time together but unfortunately it just didn't work out, but I did make it to my Prom which we left early. I discovered the Prom wasn't all that great.

It's funny when you think a part of your life is over as far as your concerned but he has found me again after thirty some odd years which totally blew me away. Found my brother Chris also and talked to both on the phone, not at the same time. It felt like time had stopped rewinding itself. The Internet and Facebook can be wonderful thing.

Mexico is the best place in the world. Or one of the best places. My family and I must have gone at least twenty times maybe more. As an adult now I know why “one piece of baloney” and “one glass of milk at night with dinner” etc. was for going on vacations. It would have been nice to be told this! But again that’s why I insisted on any kids I had we would communicate. Sometimes loudly but communicating either way.

Going through customs at the border you are already getting the feel of Mexico flavor. We actually had our car stripped once which I watched with great interest. The border police were looking for contraband.

You drive through dusty streets with vendors in the streets selling giant powdery treats for a quarter calling out their wares. Little kids are surrounding you yelling “por favor” with their little dirty brown hands stretched out pleading for money. I had been warned three things...DON'T DRINK THE WATER...DON'T GIVE CHANGE TO THE LITTLE BEGGARS...and whatever you do DON'T EAT TACOS from a street vendor it could be a ~shudder~ dog. Which of course to the teenage lover of dogs grossed me right out.

I loved the shops with the smiling vendors; it was like a covered Flea Market with Mexican shawls, shoes, toys, etc all hanging all around you. I loved it. I vaguely remember staying in a hotel once and it wasn't a very good experience with a broken A.C. and the room was filthy. When we went the next time we had a camper. I loved riding on the top bunk in that camper. I would always pass out and later when my little brother Christopher came along when he got older we would ride up bunk together giggling and laughing.

I remember meeting a young girl my age and her introducing me to my first papaya walking along the beach line not being able to speak each others language but still laughing and smiling. It was so pretty with blue skies and the water was so warm like bath water. We would run in and out at will.

Snorkeling was a lot of fun. I remember one time my cousins came with us and me and Mark, my cousin, decided to snorkel. It was a gorgeous day with a blue sky, the warm water, wetting my mask I put the plastic mouthpiece to breath in my mouth, looking at my cousin doing the same, we sunk into the water and started swimming wearing the fins my parents had bought. I loved them pushing me through the water so much faster than bare feet.

We swam up to a giant coral hill and started circling it and a bunch of small colorful fish came swimming by which I thought was just amazing. I went to touch the cool and felt stinging on my fingers then they started bleeding. My daredevil cousin made me get out of the water and onto the beach so the blood wouldn't attract sharks. I sure miss him. That's when my cousin was alive may he RIP...

...to be continued next Monday

Do you like my story so far?

Monday Memories #8 #FixThePlus

 Continued from Monday Memories #7

Anyways back to the cutest guy in the whole wide world who has since passed may he R.I.P but that’s a whole different story. I remember talking my parents into letting me go on my first date at almost sixteen.

It was to the movies and hell if I can remember the movie, but it was me, Ricky, and his cousins. So holding my breath until he asked me to “go steady” with him we were right into each other. He really paid me a lot of attention and introduced me to Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven which I learned every word.

We would have long make-out sessions to which was what teenagers did, but that was as far as that went. It was all and good, but my mother had to ruin it by insisting that he came over to my house and that was never a good idea.

We would meet up at the mall but mom made it harder and harder to see him and he finally broke up with me which broke my teenage heart. God the tears flowed and flowed and I blamed my mother. She had no trust in me at all. Maybe because she got pregnant with me, but she should have trusted me more.

I smile when telling this story about the one of two times I snuck a boy into my room. Of course, my parents came home early and if anyone outside the house was looking they would have seen a teenage boy jumping out my window! Here's what happened.

Me: "I can't believe it, my parents came home early"! As I shoved Rick into my closet I cranked up my music. When my parents got in the house my mother hollered for me to turn down my music.Me and Ricki: Freaking out saying Oh crap...alot.Me: Opening my window pushing the screen out telling Ricki to jump out helping him by pushing at his legs.

I have told this story a few times and when I told him which fences to jump over, he jumped over the wrong fence coming face to face with my backyard neighbor's Doberman. Needless to say, he yelled at me when he got home...oops!

I look back at it today and can't help grinning at the craziness of that day. Anyways I and his cousins remained friends all through my 12th year and they were all in their 11th  year and that’s when at the ending of my 12th year me and the girls went on a 'manhunt'. I needed a date to the Prom...

You ever have a crazy teenage moment...or two?

If she is given a direct command she has to obey much to her dismay which her step-sisters Hattie and Olive take full advantage of.

She falls in love with Prince Char whom she wants to protect him from her selfish family so she can't marry him breaking her heart.

Trivia For Mother's Day

If you would like to see the answer read further...

In his Mother's Day proclamation, Wilson called “upon the government officials to display the United States flag on all government buildings, and the people of the United States to display the flag at their homes or other suitable places on the second Sunday in May as a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country.”

Have a wonderful day.

Thinking Back Tuesdays Story #6 FixThePlus

Continued from last Tuesday...Before you get the wrong idea let me explain...

My earliest memory’s I have is when I was very young, I'd say two or three years old. It was night and no seat belt laws back then so I was standing next to my mother in the front seat while she was yelling at my father to get in the car and me crying out “daddy” which then he got in the car.

I remember laying in the back seat at night and watching the street lights whiz by which later on figured out mom was out getting dad from the whatever bar he was at. He later stopped going.

There was non-stop screaming and yelling; doors slamming and windows rattling. It took me forever to not be a 'yeller' learning how to talk things out without violence or screaming.

Being grounded was like a death sentence to me so I became very skilled at hiding the fact that this butterfly was coming out of her cocoon no matter what my poor mother did to smother it. I think because she had gotten pregnant with me, I would have a 'surprise' as she recalled my birth.

Junior High...images are flashing by for I had some very good times despite the fact I was still a loner belonging to no group of kids but trying to fit in. Nothing like I am now that’s for sure!

Having to wear (yes my mother kept on buying my clothing) what she picked out was horribly embarrassing. We would go to Sears and/or J.C. Pennys armed with mother's credit card. For some reason, my father came along and it's he that I went to with my 'clothing issues'.

I would make my argument over whatever I was being forced to wear, he would issue his verdict. I would win. It usually was about wearing outdated stuff which made going to Jr. High I knew you had to change in front of other girls in Physical Education.  No way was I going to wear cotton brief panties with little flowers on them! We settled on cotton crouch solid print bikinis.

I am part Irish, Dutch and Cherokee Indian. In the winters I was bone white while sunbathing in the California sunshine I would turn a nice bronze color. I wanted to shave. I had very hairy legs which of course made me feel very self-conscious so I sneaked into my parent's master bathroom borrowing my father's very sharp razor which I had been warned never to touch.

I brought the razor into my bathroom excited, I was going to have beautifully smooth shaved legs. I sure could have used Google back then for at least I knew to lather up my legs first. I start at the top of my foot and draw the razor along the top of my leg to my knee.

You ever cut yourself with a very sharp razor? If you have then you know at first you don't feel anything at all but you know there's something wrong. Next is this awful stinging sensation with blood flowing out of five or six little chunks of shin skin up the length of my poor leg.

I managed to finish shaving only much more carefully around the little holes in my leg. I got better at shaving after learning the hard way which was mostly the only way I learned about life. I wore pants for a week. Now I know where the phrase growing up can painfull come from. Junior High wasn't all about embarrassments, I did have two escapes, my love of art and music...

To be continued next Tuesday...What did you like to do in Jr. High?

"Wouldn't It Be Nice"

"Wouldn't It Be Nice"

Wouldn't it be nice if we were old
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

The Beach Boys. Didn't they have some uplifting music?

In the kind of world where we belong means a lot of things to me. A place where you are comfortable. A peaceful place.
I just got off of Facebook. I like to mix it up what I look at first or  I will get bored  eventually wandering away to look for something else to do.

As I scrolled down my homepage, then my timeline commenting here and there I think to myself wouldn't it be nice if there could be this huge reunion of all the people you befriended and loved down over time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the technology that allows us to see whoever you are talking to. It's joyful but can be deeply depressing as well. So you put on a brave face, smile, crack a joke or two, burying it.

Thinking back to everyone that I had ever known, trusted, befriended, I'm realizing this group of family and friends are going to take up some space!

The variety of people would be awesome. Friends and family from California, Maine, now Vermont. We would have Captains and fisherman, Carnies and Bikers, Bingo lovers and Bloggers. Every co-worker I had ever befriended.

So knowing that is just a lovely dream I will write every Tuesday to get my story out there. I hope that at least one or two people will read and enjoy.

Wouldn't it be nice?

Thinking Back Tuesdays Story #5 FixThePlus

Continued from last Tuesday...

Little did I know my future husband's brother & sister-in-law lived right down the block where my family lived. Then the “black people” as my mother called them and “beaners” (I didn't agree to either term) as everyone called them started moving into the Dream Homes.

By this time, I had a little brother but he was still a baby. The Doctor had made a mistake cutting his forehead during his C-Section which really pissed big sister off!

I am having an epiphany writing this. I am reading a book that was given to me and came across a paragraph that pretty much described what I couldn't really put into words but knew it was there all along. It says the following:

“There were times, like today, when she realized that after a youth of skating along slippery surfaces, she had now settled into a domestic rut of dazzling sameness, each day forced to perform the same show with the same players, just each player one day older. She wondered why it had to be this way, why are we forced to choose one life. Why do we insist that there can only be one “us”, one life that makes us up in our entirety? Why can't we have more than one identity? And why do we have to destroy one life in order to create another? We claim to long for the “well-rounded,” the Renaissance man or woman inside all of us, yet our only variety is cosmetic. In reality, we do all we can to smother that spirit out, to make us conform, to define us as one thing and one thing only.”

Looking back I have had many lives in this same life. When I had my own children I used what had happened to try and protect them and it never seemed enough knowing what was really out there.

It's funny sometimes the bits and pieces that come back as memories so long ago. So I pretty much made it through Elementary School where the 6th-grade girls were all into wearing training bras and I wasn't allowed a bra.

Between the peer pressure of wearing a bra, saddle shoes and nylon ankle socks not to mention plain dresses that looked like I was in a Catholic School I got very creative at breaking and wrecking these things I hated. Which when I became a mother it was very important to me for my children to feel comfortable in clothes they liked not hated, which lucky for them I liked their clothing choices as well.

That went for hair also. My son started liking a shaved head , my daughter wanted short hair for a long time.I think my mother thought of me like a Barbie Doll only Barbie was way hipper than I was!

My absolute happiest memories are when I was 15 years old going to the pool every day if possible. My High School's pool was open all summer so that’s where I spent my summer days swimming, tanning, and acting oh so nonchalant around the boys. I would hop on my bike and spend the day carefree under the blue Californian sun and the crystal clear blue water of the swimming pool.

Junior High went a little bit better for I got better at telling lies and finally taking more control over who I was. Before you get the wrong ideas let me explain...

To be continued next Tuesday...

Monday's Movie's How To Watch The Long-Awaited Game Of Thrones

Finally, The Game Of Thrones. I have watched every single show and like all great series it took what seemed like a lifetime for April 17th to come. It's like a dream, is it real you ask? Yes for all you Game Of Thrones fans it's very, very real.

Spoilers for the season premiere of Game of Thrones are below.
The sixth season premiere of Game of Thrones, titled "The Red Woman," ended with a major shocker for viewers, as the titular character — the Lady Melisandre — revealed that she's been keeping a very big secret since she first appeared on the series.
As unveiled in the episode's final scene, Melisandre has been keeping her appearance magically disguised all along. Her true visage isn't that of 39-year-old actress Carice van Houten — instead, she is immensely older.

You can read more here.

You don't have to have HBO for you can watch Game Of Thrones here.

Enjoy!

7. Django Unchained is the first time in 16 years that Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t get the top billing.

Chemical Imbalance Used To Rule My Life #FixThePlus

I have been watching and have been very into this show True Detectives that another blogger I met and have been communicating with recommended. He is super easy to talk to and if you would like to check him out click on this link http://yourmoviesinmind.blogspot.co.uk/

Needless to say, I had to slow myself down a bit so I can add to my blog instead of letting it slip away like I do some projects.

I went over to my kitchen sink for some reason; can't really remember why. I think to turn on the kitchen light. All morning the sun's been trying to come out and not doing a very good job of it!

Then I was facing a sinkful of dishes I had put off and decided to start washing. I got all the way to the silverware and a couple of pans; the top of the stove still needs to be washed; before my back started to tighten up which reminded me of the days I used to blame almost all my pain that I suffer with now on my past relationships.

Some of them are the direct aftermath of old injuries from past relationships.where in that world it was pretty much normal for an argument to escalate into physical violence. All this is going through my mind as I'm washing dishes as fast as I can before back pain sets in!

The world I'm in now there is no fighting, pushing or smacking. No name calling or jealously. No drinking no smoking. Before when I was in my 20's, 30's and even early 40's I thought that was so boring. And no one was going to tell me different.

For the 10 years I've been with my husband for we lived together first before we got married I have been bruise free. He had never ever laid a hand on me even though at first I would shy away if I thought he was which was all in my head.

What I'm doing is simply telling my story and hopefully save someone else from making choices that can put you in danger. I was that daredevil.

This post lets start from the top. By top I mean head and my brain. I had the best Doctor ever in Maine before I moved to Vermont. Years ago he discovered I had a chemical imbalance. Now I take two Zoloft a day to keep the anger away. Been taking my medication for years.

Evidently chemical imbalances seem to run through my family but just the women. Looking back I remember around twelve first my Grandma had to be institutionalized after my grandpa had left her. Then my mother same thing ending with my father leaving her as well.

Not a good batting average. My mother wouldn't take her meds saying they made her feel funny which back then these meds did exactly that!

So now I have my head together and believe me you don't want to see me off of them. I seem to grow porcupine quills and try and shoot them at everyone! I know this because I tried it thinking "I'm fine, I don't need Zoloft". The end result of that was calling up my job; quitting; being hired back with 2 weeks to get back on my meds again.

So if you feel you can't control certain emotional issues talk to your doctor. You may need a little extra help.

How do you deal with life' emotional battles?

Saturday Cartoons As A Kid

Finally, it's the long-awaited day...Saturday. I would wake up to the smell of pancakes or waffles, joyously jump out of bed, go eat breakfast, sprawl out on the carpet in the living room, and turning on cartoons.

I would watch H.R. Puffnstuff, who's your friend when things get rough. Now I look at that image and think to myself, "What was I thinking"? As a kid, I loved that show.

The Pink Panther was another show I loved watching. I dressed up as the Pink Panther when I was in my twenties complete with a bobbing tail. Pink tights, a pink leotard, a coat hanger made into a tail and presto.

Mighty Mouse with "Here I come to save the day". It was so fun watching this little mouse beat up those huge villains. He was the strongest mouse I knew, he was going to come save me from the bullies at school.

Yosemite Sam, "I hates rabbits." Shooting wildly everywhere. PePe Le Pew who's antics would crack me up no matter how many times I watched this poor little kitty trying to get away from that smelly skunk.

I loved Gumby and his sidekick Pokey proudly owning one of each bending them every which way I would entertain myself for hours.
I liked Mr. Magoo laughing at his antics being blind as a bat but he always got out of trouble, barely.

Woody Woodpecker, Chilly Willy, Bugs Bunny, Heckle & Jeckle, Boris & Natasha, I can almost her rough husky voice now. Underdog, The Flintstones and so much more were my best friends until one by one they became repeats, a simpler time I can still remember.

What were your favorite cartoons when you were a little kid?

How To Enjoy The First Bar-b-cue Of The Year

Everyone knows that familiar delightful smell, someone's barbecuing! Oh boy.

It's a nice slightly warm day, sitting out in the sun can get you really warmed up, sitting in the shade is a little cooler under the tent awning you have used for years.

I love cold pasta and potato salads. Hamburgers, hotdogs, maybe chicken go well together.

That's what Mr. Rose and I did this last Sunday. I would have posted Sunday but I was too full and tired out from good food, good company, my In-Laws and mountain fresh air.

I love it out in Marshville. In fact, that's the town my husband and I got married in. It's a mixture of mountain, country type setting.

One time there was actually a cow in the road with a police officer calling it like you would a horse, it was funny.

We stayed all day having hamburgers, hotdogs and chicken all grilled to perfection. I made a dump cake which came out nice and gooey.

A couple who lived down the road a piece dropped in and were invited to stay so, all in all, it was a long beautiful day and I can't wait to do it again.

Have you had a barbecue yet?
