Prince Died While I Was Making Pancakes

For breakfast/lunch, I decided to make some blueberry pancakes. I actually made it through standing until I was done with the last pancake. Needless to say, when I sat down to eat my pancakes it was kinda hot from the burner since we have a gas stove eating only a few bites.

My husband announces "Prince has died" they just said so. I asked if it was 'real' with all the hoaxes that come out you have to check and recheck. Evidently it's true.

I'm 57 and I'm here to tell you I told my husband that it doesn't matter how much money you have you can go anytime, "would you like more butter and syrup on your pancakes"?

He agreed so after a few minutes listening to the newscast about Prince dying which is all over the web as of now I say "Maybe when you do have a lot of money it makes things worse"?

I was never a huge Prince fan but my heart does go out to his passing, his friends, fans, and family. News like this makes you take a brief look at your own mortality then you move on.

Farewell Prince, may you rock in peace.

What were you doing when you heard the news of Prince passing?

Let It Rain... I'm Making Smoothies! #FixThePlus *

If you are keeping up with my blog you will defiantly know that I love the rain! Right now it's pouring and I'm being soothed by the rain and winds magical noise. I keep telling myself that someday I will get a disk of rain noise complete with thunder and lightening.

I just finished making another batch of Smoothie Cycles and again out did myself<<grins proudly.

I'm adding to the ingredient's which I'm positive is spiking the calorie count but my little voice friend reminds me,"If you got run over by a bus tomorrow, what would be the use of saving calories"? I love my little voice friend.

So I will put out the recipe but the measurements can vary for when I make my Smoothie Pops its very much like a witch at her cauldron!

               Green Chocolate Homemade Pops

  • One bag of brown sugar instant oatmeal (Left over from box, neither one of us likes to eat just 1 package for breakfast)
  • 2 Tbsp.of Crisco Pure Coconut Oil
  • Update: My husband read off a warning about Coconut Oil
  •  https://www.pritikin.com/your-health/healthy-living/eating-right/1790-is-coconut-oil-bad-for-you.html
  • The amount I eat is not dangerous but I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.
  • (If I was a teenager back home in California I probably would have tried some to sunbath with)
  • 2 Tbsp. of Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter
  • (Make sure to stir the oil down with the pb)
  • 1/4 Cup of Best Buy Clover Honey
  • (Yes I buy the cheaper stuff...have you seen the price of honey)?!
  • A couple of scoops (it can be Kool-aid or coffee scoops) of Chocolate Cappuccino (Brm Brm that will get ya going)
  • Big handful of Kale
  • (I take out the stems and freeze the leaves)
  • 1 frozen banana broke in half
  • 2 Cups of left over Watermelon
  • (How come ever time I have anything to do with watermelon I think of vodka...then jello shots)?! Get back here Sheryl.
  • 1/3 of container of Greek Yogurt Honey Vanilla
  • Handful of frozen Blueberries
  • 3 to 4 Cups of Silk Coconut Almond Blend

Now blend it all up into a delicious smoothie pop mix. Fill up your molds and freeze.

Now Where Did It Go? #FixThePlus *

I am positive everyone in this world has that 'safe place', the dryer that eats your one sock or the object just plain disappears. I saw a movie once where there was this huge room where everything that was lost showed up in this room.

Most of the objects were socks of course! I now have a banana box full of mismatched socks and another where they all match! That's because you don't wave a sale in front of me. Especially for cute little onesies socks for 1/2 off.

What has prompted this post is this. I made a blender full of my green smoothie.

I have four of those plastic molds to make smoothie cycles. Thanks for molding them in four's. If you lose one you lose them all. Then we have the tops; the plastic sticks. I am missing five of them in nice neon colors. Red, blue and yellow. Should stand right out right? Wrong!

So my husband who wears headphones to play games lifts one side to better hear me with for I'm bitching away about how in the world can I loose that many 'sticks' as I'm cutting up straws and sticking them in the molds.

I tell him as he is patiently listening to me that I'm going to get Popsicles and save the sticks. I go on to say I bet I'll never loose those to which my husband replies,"Make that fudge cycles hun...yum" and I laughed.

Humor is once restored. Who cares if you have to go old school to eat a homemade Popsicle...I sure don't!

Green Smoothies #FixThePlus *

I love to try new things and experiment. One of my newest loves is Green Smoothies.

They are so good going down. The only problem is since I had by-pass years ago my pouch is very temperamental and basically rules my system.

The best thing about it despite the green color which is the vegetables, it tastes like whatever fruit you put in it.

Since when you have had a bypass you don't get all the proteins your supposed to eat I'm  despite my best efforts; not a fruit and vegetable eater on a constant basis. This way I get both!

Problem #2. Drinking it so fast I get brain freeze and feel sick having to lay down until it passes. I think that is defeating the whole tasty Smoothie experience.

I have a new Yogurt I'm enjoying now. It's Greek Honey and absolutely delish but the same problem as the Smoothie...I have a point I swear!

So I came up with the bright idea of spooning spoonfuls of yogurt into a plastic ice cube try and presto.

I have little frozen "clouds" my husband calls them. I empty the tray into a plastic bag and pop them in my mouth happy as a clam.

Finally...the point.
I made a blender full of Green Smoothie and poured it into my ice cube tray. I'm waiting for it to freeze and then I will try them out.

I will let you know later what I find out. Then I will make a post about the recipe .
